DDB Contracting has completed a historic building office fit out for Flaster Greenberg’s law offices, delivered for client Lincoln Equities Group in Newark, NJ.

The 5,000 square foot historic building office fit out transformed space within a historic glass foundry into a modern corporate office for the law firm. Rather than remove all traces of the building’s past, original kiln equipment from the foundry was incorporated into the finished design. The kiln now stands as a centerpiece within the space, a reminder of the building’s industrial roots set against clean modern finishes.

“This project was about more than a fit out, it was about honoring what made this building special in the first place,” said Edward Albanese, Founder of DDB Contracting. “Working alongside Lincoln Equities Group, we found a way to give Flaster Greenberg a modern, functional office while keeping the soul of the original foundry intact.”

The finished space blends that historic industrial detail with the functionality of a modern law office, giving Flaster Greenberg a home base that stands apart from a typical corporate fit out.

As DDB Contracting continues to take on projects within historic and adaptive reuse buildings, the Flaster Greenberg fit out stands as a good example of the kind of work the company takes pride in: finding ways to build within a space’s existing character rather than erasing it.
