DDB Contracting has been selected to deliver a renovation of Sandhill Plaza, a retail shopping center owned by First National Realty Partners (FNRP), located in Newtown, Connecticut. This project reflects DDB Contracting’s continued and expanding relationship with FNRP and the company’s ongoing growth into new markets across the United States.

The Sandhill Plaza project consists of a 10,209-square-foot renovation within an active retail shopping center. Over an eight-week schedule beginning May 1st, DDB Contracting will carefully coordinate construction to minimize disruption to daily operations, with the remainder of the center, approximately 152,000 square feet, remaining fully occupied throughout the duration of the project.

When the project initially projected to be over budget, DDB Contracting’s team utilized value-engineering to bring costs down without compromising the end result. DDB Contracting offers value engineering and cost control services to provide a systematic and detailed review of project costs, helping clients manage their project costs effectively.

DDB Contracting will be managing the full scope of work for this FNRP Connecticut renovation and will be self-performing the majority of trades including; demo, carpentry, windows, doors, gypsum, painting, and specialties. As a self-performing GC, DDB Contracting maintains hands-on control over every phase of the project, which allows the nationwide commercial contractor to deliver consistent quality, stay on schedule, and manage costs efficiently.

“Projects like this one highlight the importance of careful coordination and operational awareness when working within active retail environments,” said Eddie Albanese, SVP West of DDB Contracting. “Our continued partnership with FNRP reflects the trust they place in our team to deliver results.”
